Home to four generations of the Rockefeller family, beginning with the philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil, this 40-room historic house and museum is now a National Historic Landmark owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Kykuit, derived from the Dutch word Kijkuit meaning “lookout,” is situated on the highest point in Pocantico Hills, overlooking the Hudson River at Tappan Zee.
 

Enjoy and be in awe of the home’s architecture, remarkable gardens, art, history, and spectacular scenery through guided tours, which are available through Historic Hudson Valley.
