Stroll along the stream and immerse yourself in nature at the Bozen Kill Preserve, just minutes outside the state capital of Albany.
Located in the Capital Region town of Altamont and maintained by the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, the 439-acre Bozen Kill Preserve is beloved for its wooded trails and the stream that runs through it, which flows from the nearby Helderberg Escarpment on its way to the Watervliet Reservoir and gives the preserve its name. There are a variety of trails to choose from, from easy strolls along the stream to a longer system of nine trails, spanning six miles total, which wind through the woods and run by an overlook where you can stop and take in the views. If you prefer not to hike, enjoy a picnic or relax in the shade along the stream; there are benches and a picnic table available as well. The entrance to the preserve is at the end of Bond Road in Altamont.
