Located in Orange County and the town of New Windsor, the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor pays tribute to the stories and sacrifices of Purple Heart recipients and explores the military history of our country.

The self-guided experience starts with a short introduction from the museum’s staff and an overview of the history of the Purple Heart and its connection to this area. Galleries are organized by themes:  entering service, the day of the incident, care and treatment, the road to recovery, or the ultimate sacrifice. Interactive stations throughout the museum highlight several specific

Purple Heart recipients through stories, letters, documents, images, audio and video clips. There is also a Purple Heart Roll of Honor database available to search. Special group tours, programs and visits can be scheduled through the Hall of Honor’s website.
