MAGICAL MUSIC @ the MISSION - Moreno, Moreau, & Robertson - Feb 11 Time: 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM
Magic will happen at the South Wedge Mission when three incredibly talented musicians, masters of collaboration, with distinct musical and cultural roots converge.

Expect the unexpected when RUBEN MORENO from Houston TX, RIC ROBERTSON from Greensboro NC, and BRANDON MOREAU from Basile LA take the stage. Having never played together before, they’ll blend and bend when they mix the best of Creole Zydeco, Cajun Bluegrass, and Jazz-Funk-Americana.

Part of the magic will flow from the beauty and acoustics of the South Wedge Mission’s chapel itself … possessing room to sit and soak in the sounds and great space to move and dance. The chapel will be ideally configured for OPTIMAL SEATING to hear and experience the music, as well as setting aside

Sweetheart Snowshoe & Gourmet Dinner Time: 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Make this a Valentine’s Day to remember: a lantern-lit snowshoe through the winter woods, just for you and your loved one. The warm glow of luminaries will guide you on snow-covered trails as you discover nature’s romantic winter story. After your walk, warm up by the fire with some hot cocoa. Then, take home a delicious four-course dinner prepared by Chef Luke Szabo of Scratch Farmhouse Catering complete with dessert. Cost is $155/couple. Two sessions are available: Session 1: 5:00 – 6:00pm or Session 2: 6:30 – 7:30pm.

Space is limited to 20 couples per session. There are two, hour-long sessions for this event with separate registration for each. Pre-registration is required. Snowshoes and lanterns are provided.

Owl Prowl: Nighttime Ninjas Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
On wintry nights, owls call among the trees and wander about the woods on silent wings. Join us to tune into your senses and enjoy experiencing the nighttime world of owls. We will go for a quiet walk through the forest, pausing in several spots to call for owls and learning about the adaptations that help them to survive at night.

More details: This program is designed for families and ages 10 and up. Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required. This program will include a walk on the Valley Trail loop, which is one of our most difficult trails with hilly terrain, natural surfaces, and roots. Snowshoes will be provided if necessary. Please bring a flashlight.

The Syracuse Orchestra Gala

The Syracuse Orchestra Gala Time: 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Celebrate our amazing community with music presented by The Syracuse Orchestra! The Orchestra will feature many local artists, including Ronnie Leigh, Katie Webber, CirqOvation, and country artists and SAMMY-award winners Steve Cali and T. J. Sacco. A community choir with singers from The Syracuse Pops Chorus, Syracuse University Oratorio Society, and the Syracuse Gospel Collective will also join the orchestra, and Syracuse-native Principal Pops Conductor, Sean O’Loughlin has written a brand-new piece for the event.
