Located 25 minutes from both the Canadian border at the St. Lawrence River and the Adirondack Park, Canton includes the Town of Canton, the Village of Canton, the Village of Rensselaer Falls, the Hamlets of Pyrites and Morley, and an abundance of beautiful open spaces.

The Canton community boasts a vibrant downtown with safe, comfortable neighborhoods, thriving farms with rolling pastures, and open meadows, woodlands, and valleys all close to the beautiful Grasse River.

As the county seat, Canton is home to the county government, as well as a hub for education with a significant student population attending St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton. Year-round Canton hosts a variety of events including summer and winter festivals, live music, farmer’s markets and more.
