The village of Catskill blends a rich history and a thriving arts and culture scene to create a quaint and picturesque village on the banks of the Hudson River. Catskill was home to famed American painter Thomas Cole, who founded the Hudson River School of Art; the Thomas Cole House is still open for visitors today, and showcases the unique blend of art and history that defines this town.

Visit the shops, boutiques and eateries housed in historic Victorian buildings on Main Street, or head out on the Catskill Beverage Trail; there are three breweries and a cidery located right in town, and more in the area. With its location between the Catskill mountains and the Hudson River, as well as being home to the Hudson River’s largest tidal swamp forest, there are plenty of places to get out for a hike, bike ride, picnic, or boat trip. Special events provide plenty of unique reasons to visit year-round.
