First Day Hike

The Friends of Clark Reservation will once again host a “First Day Hike” event on January 1, 2024 from 11 am to 2 pm.
There will be two guided hikes: an easier "walking hike" (about an hour) on mostly flat or slightly inclined ground, as well as a more challenging hike (about 2 - 3 hours) for those who would like more of a challenge. Hikers are also welcome to hike on their own. This is a family-friendly event; friendly dogs welcome (on leash only).
Sign-in begins at 10:45 at the large pavilion at the end of the main parking lot. Refreshments will be available at the Nature Center from noon until 2 pm.

The Black Cinema Series, a partnership between the Rochester Association of Black Journalists (RABJ) and the Little Theatre, presents "American Fiction" at 7 p.m. Jan. 13 (Sat.) at The Little.
The film is written and directed by Cord Jefferson (in his feature directorial debut) and stars Jeffrey Wright. A novelist who's fed up with the establishment profiting from "Black" entertainment uses a pen name to write a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy and the madness he claims to disdain.
"American Fiction" has been nominated for a 2024 Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) Golden Globe Award.
Following the film "American Fiction," there will be a post-screening discussion. Panelists will be announced on RABJ's Facebook page.

The Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge at The Sagamore Resort is one of the coolest events in the Northeast. January’s annual Glacier Ice Bars – presented at The Sagamore Resort and Samoset Resort – are quintessential wintertime traditions that date back more than a decade. But simply a swan sculpture these are not. A frosty 50,000 pounds of ice are sculpted into bars, barstools, chairs, tables, even glassware.
In addition to ice luges anchoring each end of the signature ice bar, ice sculptures, and seating draped in faux fur blankets, there’s also a series of heated private igloos for warming up in between time spent at the bar. The handcrafted cocktails run the range from warm, boozy coffee beverages to festive cranberry, vodka, and champagne creations.

The Glacier Ice Bar & Lounge at The Sagamore Resort is one of the coolest events in the Northeast. January’s annual Glacier Ice Bars – presented at The Sagamore Resort and Samoset Resort – are quintessential wintertime traditions that date back more than a decade. But simply a swan sculpture these are not. A frosty 50,000 pounds of ice are sculpted into bars, barstools, chairs, tables, even glassware.
In addition to ice luges anchoring each end of the signature ice bar, ice sculptures, and seating draped in faux fur blankets, there’s also a series of heated private igloos for warming up in between time spent at the bar. The handcrafted cocktails run the range from warm, boozy coffee beverages to festive cranberry, vodka, and champagne creations.
