How Cool is this .. Daylight will temporarily turn into Night and a glowing Ring of Fire - callled the Corona - will encircle the eclipsed Sun !


You can watch the Event live with special protective glasses  as the Shadow of Totality traverses across Western NY, the Northern Finger Lakes, Thousand Islands, and Adirondacks on its way to New England and Canada. 
 

 

The last Total Solar Eclipse  in NY State was over 100 years ago, and occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking out the Sun's rays for several minutes.

 

All of NY State will be able to see some portion of the Eclipse, but shaded areas on the Map represent the spectacular Path of Totality, courtesy of www.eclipse2024.org.
