June 5-7, 2026 Located along the historic Erie Canal in Western New York, near Rochester, Fairport is a village filled with charm and character. Founded in the heyday of the original Erie Canal, the town was an essential stop for canal boat captains on their way from Albany to Buffalo and back, and its location allowed it to blossom into and blossoming into a canalside center of industry and commerce.
That influence is still evident in Fairport today, and the annual Canal Days Festival pays tribute to it each June, when thousands of visitors gather in the streets for the parties, parades and to enjoy lively atmosphere along the canal and throughout town. The festival celebrates its 48th year from June 6-8, 2025, with a full slate of family-friendly activities, including concerts, a market with more than 200 artisans and craft vendors, plenty of food and beverages, live music, kids’ activities, and more.
