This historic museum is housed in a 1772 Dutch Reformed Church that was fortified in 1777 and attacked in 1780 by British forces during the Revolutionary War.
A museum for more than 130 years, it features thousands of artifacts in six historic buildings including a fire engine built before George Washington was born and Schoharie’s first automobile, a 1903 Rambler.
Other buildings to explore in the complex include an early 1700s home, a 1780s Dutch barn, an 1830s law office and an 1890s one-room schoolhouse.
It is open May 1 through October 31.
