Buttermilk Falls takes its name from the foaming cascade formed by Buttermilk Creek. Buttermilk Creek descends more than 500 feet in a series of cascades and rapids providing a natural pool at the base giving swimmers the feel of an old swimming hole.

The park offers five trails for hiking, swimming, RV and tent camping and cabin rentals as well as the scenic Larch Meadows glen and wetland area. Along with scenic views, the park also provides grills, nature trails, picnic tables, playgrounds, pavilions, playing fields and showers.

To discover even more exceptional beauty, hike the stairs into the heart of the gorge.
