This 18-room, wood-frame house was built in 1889 by the owners of the Gilbert Knitting Mill and the Snyder Bicycle Factory during the hey-day of the Little Falls Mercantile Era. Furnished with antiques and art, Gansevoort House Inn features three living salons with Dorian columns, high ceilings, fireplace, a formal dining room, solarium and modern kitchen. A patio door opens on to a sun deck from the solarium and guests can walk along the Erie Canal to lift lock #17 from the inn.

The inn’s owners are both artists and musicians and their galleries of art and books are located in historic Canal Place, which is just a short walk from the house. There are three guest rooms in the main house and the carriage house is a cozy cottage with two levels. The inn’s complimentary breakfast includes juice, a fruit dish, breakfast entree prepared with herbs from the garden and fresh baked muffins, coffee or tea; special dietary needs can be accommodated.

To make a reservation, please call or go to the B&B website.
