Since 1982, The H. Lee White Maritime Museum has been entrusted with and dedicated to preserving the area’s diverse and rich nautical history through exhibits and artifacts which chronicle more than 400 years of regional maritime history.
Located in Oswego along the Seaway Trail, the Maritime Museum is open all year featuring a gift shop, boating education center and several significantly historic vessels open for tours May through October. Vessels include the National Historic Landmark WWII Tugboat LT-5, the 1927 NYS Derrick Boat 8 (listed on the National Register of Historic Places), and the last American commercial fishing vessel on Lake Ontario, named the Eleanor D.
