Proctors Theater opened in 1926 as a popular vaudeville theatre and today is the Capital Region’s destination for major Broadway shows, cutting-edge film festivals, exciting special events, and everything in between.
In 1930, Proctors hosted the first public demonstration of television with the help of General Electric.
Many famous artists have performed there, notably Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Hal Holbrook, Ted Wiles, and George Burns, as well as many others.
This elaborately beautiful theater also has one of the largest movie screens in the Northeast.
