Overlooking the local Shawangunk Mountains, New Paltz Brewing Co. declares itself “one of the very few breweries in the United States that make a true fresh handcrafted lager.” The company specializes in German-based beers forged with old world European recipes from beers that have been enjoyed from the 1400s and even earlier.
While the tasting room does not have a full restaurant facility, it does serve German-style snacks like Bratwurst on a small roll w/German spicy mustard, Gelbwurst Sliders (A traditionally seasoned German Sausage with melted cheese) and, of course, hot baked Bavarian pretzels.
