Open dawn until dusk, this 641-acre sanctuary offers six miles of trails and the opportunity to experience diverse habitats and witness a wide variety of wildlife. Buttercup Farms is just 30 minutes southeast of Woodstock in the Catskills.
 

As you explore old farm fields and other ecological habitats, be on the lookout for up to 80 species of birds such as raptors like northern harrier hawks, song and field birds, wading birds such as great blue herons, wood ducks and many other species of waterfowl, migrating shore birds, beavers and more.
 

A scenic overlook provides a great vantage point for impressive views of Stissing Mountain and the valley below. Six miles of trails; those on the sanctuary's west side are wheelchair accessible.
