Conveniently located within John Boyd Thacher State Park, Thompson's Lake Campground is nestled in the mountains just four miles from the Helderberg Escarpment.
 

Featuring a sandy beach, mixed hardwood and conifer forests, limestone outcroppings and open fields, this campground offers wooded campsites for both RVs and tents. While there is no electricity or water hookups, there are bathrooms with showers.
 

Recreational opportunities include a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a playing field, swing sets, carry-in boat access, canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards, fishing areas, and nature trails. winter, visitors can cross-country ski and ice fish.
 

Also accessible to campers is the Emma Treadwell Thacher Nature Center, located on Thompson's Lake next to the campground. The center offers exhibits, interactive displays, trails for hiking and skiing, and educational programs.
 

Leash pets are welcome; limit of two pets per site.
