This family-owned brewery promotes the history of hops on the Erie Canal and the use of 100% local ingredients, using only grain from their own farm and from local craft malt houses. The production brewery is located on James Street in Canastota while the brewery’s inviting, industrial-style Taproom is located at 135 S. Peterboro Street in Canastota, next to The Toast.
 

Erie Canal Brewing Company’s signature beer, Muleskinner Pale Ale, reflects the light citrus aroma and flavor of Madison County’s cascade hop and the brewery’s Amber Waves of Grain, a pale ale malt with dark crystal and pale chocolate malts, was awarded a Silver Medal in the 2018 NYS Excelsior Governor's Cup Competition.
