Caledonia Hatchery
Rearing both brown trout and rainbow trout, virtually all of the two-year-old brown trout used in DEC's stocking program are produced at Caledonia Hatchery
Established in 1864, this hatchery is the oldest hatchery in New York State and the Western Hemisphere.
Rearing both brown trout and rainbow trout, virtually all of the two-year-old brown trout used in DEC's stocking program are produced at Caledonia Hatchery. The facility produces approximately 170,000 pounds yearly.
Caledonia Hatchery is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day, year-round.
