Olcott Harbor Lighthouse

The Olcott Harbor Lighthouse was erected in 1873 at the mouth of Lake Ontarion and 18-Mile Creek (named for being eighteen miles from the Niagara River at Lake Ontario). While it was originally listed as being a fourth-order lighthouse, when completed, it was outfitted with a smaller sixth-order lens.
When the light was no longer needed in the 1930s, the lighthouse was moved to a local yacht club, where it resided until the early 1960s when it was dismantled. Without original blueprints or plans, the group, the Olcott Lighthouse Society built the 27-foot tall replica lighthouse in 2003 using old photographs developed a construction plan.
Owned by the Town of Olcott, the tower is open in season.
