The Mohonk Preserve spans more than 8,000 acres of land, mountains, fields, and streams - just a few of the natural features the Mohonk Preserve seeks to protect. Each year, more than 165,000 people travel to the preserve for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing, skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.
 

Offering climbers full and easy access to more than 1,000 routes with over five linear miles of cliff face, rock climbers from all around the world visit Mohonk to tackle this world-class climbing area.
 

Only have an hour? The preserve invites you to come to their Visitor Center for an introduction to the Mohonk Preserve and the Shawangunks. There you will get hike suggestions, can visit a butterfly garden, enjoy exhibits and activities for kids or just take a relaxing a stroll.
 

Mohonk Preserve was named one of the five best city escapes nationwide by Outside magazine.
