This unique 161-acre preserve is located partially within both the village and town of Saugerties, punctuated by a dramatic bend in the Esopus Creek less than a mile from the Hudson River.

Esopus Bend has not been used for agriculture in 40 and has transformed back to a natural ecosystem teeming with a wide array of flora and fauna. The diverse landscape offers lowland meadows, state-designated wetlands, sloping forests and a flood plain forest.
