Fairport Train Viewing Platform
Calling all train fanatics and rail fans! Fairport Junction now offers you a viewing platform to watch the trains travel through the historic village of Fairport.
Calling all train fanatics and railfans! When you are not riding a train, Fairport Junction now offers you a covered and safe viewing platform to watch the trains travel through the historic village of Fairport. The platform also provides a speaker connected to a scanner that monitors CSX radio traffic.
Set along the famed Erie Canal, the three-track line sees 40-plus trains a day on the route linking the Midwest with the New England and the New York Metro areas. Fairport Junction sees up to eight Amtrak trains a day, including the New York-Chicago Lake Shore Limited.
The platform provides a good sight and photo line to the nearby crossing of the village’s Main Street while Fairport offers a variety of dining and shopping options within walking distance of the platform, as well as parks and playgrounds.
