The Curtis R. Priem Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC)

Located on the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute campus, EMPAC invites you to explore adventurous programming in music, performance, media, theater, and much more. Experience the glorious state-of the-art concert hall and three other venues in what the New York Times has called a “technological pleasure dome for the mind.”
The 220,000-square foot building includes many firsts in the fields of acoustics, performing arts infrastructure, and architectural engineering. The main concert hall seats 1,200, and has been lauded as one of the most acoustically perfect concert halls in the world.
Both a performing arts center and research and production facility, EMPAC provides an environment that supports the realization of complex artworks and research projects at any stage, from inception to completion.
