Shakesplaining ~ An Original Production

Classic Theater Guild announces an original production, "Shakesplaining", written by Jonathan Riven and directed by Christine Vermilyea, to be held across three Schenectady locations in August.
*** This date, August 3rd, is a free performance at the SCPL ***
Co-Producer Umber Gold describes the show as “A lighthearted look at some of Shakespeare's most famous scenes and monologues, explained in modern terms in dialogues between Shakespeare and his contemporaries, including Queen Elizabeth I and authorship skeptic Mark Twain.”
“Shakesplaining” will appear at Proctors Fenimore Gallery, as part of Classic Theater Guild’s annual Gala, on August 10. Refreshments and gathering begin at 6PM with the performance at 7PM. Tickets are available at www.proctors.org or may be purchased in advance at their Box Office.
Additional dates are available at Congregation Beth Israel on Upper Union Street on August 1, 4 and 8 at 7PM, with light refreshments served. Tickets may be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com.
Finally, Schenectady County Public Library is hosting a single performance of “Shakesplaining” on August 3 at 2PM. No reservations are required.
Jonathan Riven has written theatrical material as well as directed, and managed sound for Classic Theater Guild in the successful run of Tennessee Williams‘ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” at Proctors Fenimore Gallery that wrapped at the end of June.
