The Mayfield Historical Society hosts a presentation by Kelly Farquhar from the Montgomery County History and Archives Department on “The Underground Railroad in Our Area.” Anti-Slavery Societies were formed in our area starting in 1836 and some members of these Societies were involved in the Underground Railroad. The history of slavery in our area will also be discussed. Ms. Farquhar welcomes input from the audience regarding any Underground Railroad activity you may have heard about in our area.
