Lighthouses in the Proposed Lake Ontario Marine Sanctuary

Attention Lighthouse Enthusiasts:
At the first Public Event of the year, a fascinating Video program created by WCNY Public Broadcasting will focus on the 11 lighthouses located in the proposed Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary boundaries, from the Sodus Pierhead in Wayne County to Rock Island on the St. Lawrence Seaway.
It will take place in the beautiful Colloca WInery Center overlooking harbor and Lake Ontario near Fair Haven.
Discover when and why these lighthouses were built, the functions they served, and the people who spent their lives keeping the lights burning. Several lighthouse keepers from across the area will have floor displays there.
