Host/Presenter: Friends of the IBA
Location: Washington County Grasslands, 390 Black House Road, Fort Edwards, NY, 12828

Have you ever seen a burble of Bobolinks? A harrier hover? The flight of a
falcon? These are just a few of the birds you’ll encounter on a guided walk through the fields
and meadows of the Washington County Grasslands IBA (Important Bird Area).
Join Friends of the IBA (FIBA) Executive Director Laurie LaFond to see these and other native birds at the peak of breeding season - including some of NY’s rarest species! Dozens of Bobolinks, Savannah sparrows, Eastern meadowlarks, American kestrels and more highlight a private walk on 64 acres of prime wildlife habitat FIBA is working to purchase.
For those who just can’t get enough of this breeding bird bounty, there will also be a visit NYS DEC’s Wildlife
Management Area (WMA) if time allows.
FEE of $10 of individuals, $20 for families includes a discounted one-year membership to FIBA; free to members.
