Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park is a staple to the community for residents and visitors alike to honor the men and women of Putnam County, NY who answered our nation’s call to duty. At the lower park visitors can reflect at the memorials and gaze at an M-60 tank and Cobra 318 AH-IG/S/F Helicopter. The Cobra 318 was operated by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from February 1968 through November 1969. Visitors can also enjoy a relaxing picnic at the picnic tables, swimming and fishing on the premises.
The upper park holds events for the public to enjoy. From the annual Putnam County Fair & 4H Showcase (the country fair families love) to the alluring and mystical Kingdom Faire, to getting a taste of Italy at the Putnam County Feast of San Gennaro.
