Climbing the 2350-foot summit of Bald Mountain is a popular, fairly easy and scenic hike. Formerly called Rondaxe Mountain, the Rondaxe Fire Tower is located on the summit and has been restored, affording the incredible views. The summit area itself, which is open and quite long, can easily accommodate a large number of hikers.
The total distance to hike to the summit of Bald Mountain is just under a mile and the ascent is about 500 feet with some beautiful viewing along the way. A popular day hike, the mountain can also be easily accessed from a series of trails, expanding a hiker’s experience to explore more of this gorgeous area.
