The Amish Trail

Unlike other Amish communities, there is no commercialization on this trail as life here is still carried on without modern conveniences

Nestled within the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County, the  NY Amish Trail is a self-guided tour through the region's Amish area, including the town of Leon, which is the largest Old-Order Amish community in the United States.
 

Unlike any other Amish communities, there is no commercialization as these people have resisted innovations and live without electricity, phones, cars and life is still carried on without modern conveniences.
 

Follow their hand-painted signs to their businesses, usually located in their homes, and shop for quilts, toys, furniture or baked goods and more.
 

NOTE: Please remember to honor the Amish's beliefs.... do not take photos and no sales on Sunday.
