Chenango County – in the “Center of it All”
Nestled among the hills of South-Central New York, Chenango County warmly invites you to their neck of the woods for your next family vacation or romantic getaway
Nestled among the hills of South-Central New York, Chenango County warmly invites you to their neck of the woods for your next family vacation or romantic getaway. Here you will find untouched natural beauty that recalls the area’s long history as well as a community that embraces arts and culture but hasn’t lost its small-town feel. From famous festivals to kid-friendly activities, there is something for everyone.
Enjoy a wide variety of festivals and events throughout the county like the Chenango County Wine, Beer, and Food Festival or the Chenango County Blues Festival, both held in the summer months or the Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival in September.
This relaxing and scenically idyllic area is home to nearly 80,000 acres of public lands providing outdoor recreational opportunities year-round. Go camping, have a picnic, cookout or simply take in the views in parks like Bowman Lake State Park, Chenango Valley State Park or Oquaga Creek State Park. When the snow flies, have fun taking part in your favorite winter activity like cross-country skiing, ice skating or snowmobiling.
The county is also home to the Unadilla Valley Sports Center which has the reputation of being one of the best motocross tracks in the United States. Or take in Northeast Classic Car Museum.
Children will love visiting the wolves at Wolf Mountain Nature Center and the interactive programs at Friends of Rogers—and parents will love getting their kids outdoors for some fresh air.
Year-round adventures await when you explore the gentle beauty of this rural paradise.
