GALLERY EXHIBIT | “Tied Together” by Julia Koerner Johnson. This show is all about macramé, a traditionally kitschy craft that will be elevated to conceptually explore nature, human connections, and the world at large. In this show, the ancient craft of macramé is explored further than a craft as the artist uses the rope as a connector to bring together opposing items and idea where the knot will be a central connector and common ground. Johnson was raised in Ballston Spa on a small farm, graduated from the Hoosac School (2007) and then the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore MD (2012) with a BFA in fine art. Julia then worked at Salem Art Works in Salem, NY until 2015. Julia currently works for Gore Mountain Ski Resort in North Creek, as the Design and Communications Specialist and loves calling the beautiful Adirondacks her home.
