"METAMORPHOSIS" is conceived and directed by the renowned modern dance company, Pilobolus. All trains are round trip from the Westbrook Lane Station located in the Kingston Plaza adjacent Uptown Kingston’s Stockade District.

Hop on Catskill Mountain Railroad and travel through some of the oldest farmlands in the United States where we will cross the Esopus creek on the restored C9 bridge and go through the Hurley Flats and then start climbing Hurley Mountain. Rides are approximately an hour long.

Sponsored by the Pitts Friends of Frederick Douglass. The annual event, celebrating the June 9, 1899 unveiling of the Frederick Douglass Monument by John W. Thompson and members of Eureka Lodge No. 36 of the Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons, will include remarks from City of Rochester and Monroe County officials along with descendants of Douglass. This is America's first monument dedicated to an African American. This three-day musical event showcases a collection of regional and national artists from multiple genres, all with roots steeped in tradition and vision, and arranges them for a continuous river of music. The world premiere of ‘The Second Sight’, an opera in three acts, is composed by composer and librettist Jessie Downs. The mythic tale explores the spiritual connections between generations of women as developed through the experience of grief. The music conjures mystical spaces and psychological dramas utilizing a sound palette inspired by a combination of bel canto, folk and experimental music. ‘The Second Sight’ will be directed by Nickel City Opera’s Artistic Director, Valerian Ruminski, Samantha Morrow as Creative Director and conducted by Matthew Chamberlain. This production has been rescheduled from 2020.

The Freihofer’s Saratoga Jazz Festival returns with headliners Dianne Reeves, Cécile McLorin Salvant, Christian McBride’s New Jawn, Al Di Meola, Joey Alexander and Artemis, presented by Skidmore Jazz Institute. Acclaimed local artists Garland Nelson’s Joyful Noise and Hot Club of Saratoga round out the Festival.Gates will open at 10am each day and performances will run on the amphitheater stage from 12pm-6pm. In order to maintain social distancing and uphold mandated guidelines by New York State, the 2021 festival will feature performances from 12pm-6pm on both days, all scheduled for the main amphitheater stage. Food and beverage options will be available on site. Guests are welcome to bring in their own blankets (no larger than their designated pod size), chairs and personal umbrellas or clip-on umbrellas.
