Classical Arts Entertainment presents the ballet fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in two acts with one intermission.
There are fairy tales that inspire creators to create performances in different genres and directions. One of these was the favorite fairy tale of the Brothers Grimm, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." This time, the fairy tale comes to life in dance and staging by the State Ballet Theater of Ukraine. Our ballet is a story about love, friendship, witchcraft, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.

Live music from 6 PM - 9 PM!
.
Singer-songwriters Len Widdekind and Ed Gorham make up the core of Butternut Creek Revival. Their influences are varied and include folk, rock, blues, jazz, and traditional American and European roots music. Butternut Creek Revival plays as a duo and adds great local musicians from time to time to expand their sound. At a show they will often choose songs “on the fly” that feel right for the moment in order to connect with their audience. Some audiences would prefer to hear recognizable covers, while others would prefer a more eclectic blend of original music and songs written by others.

Early November is an exciting time to witness the wonders of fall bird migration at Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. Join us on this guided adventure as we search for journeying migrants such as waterfowl, shorebirds, and more. We will also learn about the history of this place that is so crucial as a migration stopover site for birds.

This program is designed for ages 15 and up. Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required. Meet at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge visitor center at 10 am. Bring binoculars and dress warm. Most of this program will take place via car caravan, with a potential stop at an observation tower that includes stairs.

Come join us for a nature immersion experience for the whole family where everyday stresses are released. You can experience fun ways to be with nature with your children in this spring season on a guided Forest Therapy/Shinrin Yoku Walk led by June Leo-Randazzo, a Certified ANFT Forest Therapy Guide.

As you enjoy time with your family and others in the forest, you will have a chance to share with others what you are noticing in any way you would like to (words, movement, gestures and even silence). During our times of sharing, we will all practice listening with our full attention to whomever is sharing (no worries if young children need to move around, as all are welcome).

While many focus on the woody plants like trees and shrubs, a shocking diversity of herbaceous plants can be confidently recognized throughout the colder seasons. Winter plant ID is one part knowledge, one part forensics, and one part imagination, but with these skills, you can impress your friends by identifying plants and plant remains even under deep snow.

This program is designed for adults. Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required. This program will follow Griffiths Trail, a difficult trail which is generally flat but can be muddy or icy depending on the temperature and conditions. Using traditional campfire cooking methods like roasting, coal stacking, and cast iron we’ll cook up some pumpkins just like people would have done 250 years ago. While the pumpkins are roasting, we’ll learn about the history of Marcellus and Baltimore Woods, ponder how life was different back then, and how we can still see evidence of their lifestyles on the landscape today. Then, we’ll eat!
