Get a Taste of Geneva at Finger Lakes Goods and Vinifera

The Finger Lakes town of Geneva, located on the northern shores of Seneca Lake, is known for several things, but two of the biggest are great wine and great shopping opportunities. This summer, get a taste of both with stops at Finger Lakes Goods store and Vinifera wine bar, two new businesses that serve up some of the best this region has to offer.


Located next door to each other on Linden Street in downtown Geneva, which is known for its excellent local food and beverage scene, Finger Lakes Goods and Vinifera each bring an aspect of local flavor to the table. Finger Lakes Goods, which was established in 2020 as an online business before opening the storefront that exists today, prides itself on a simple mission: delivering the best quality local goods from around the area, with style.

Featuring items produced by local businesses in the Finger Lakes, Finger Lakes Goods prides itself on local, naturally-sourced and sustainable products, ranging from pantry items (think sauces, marinades, dips, jellies and jams, honey, meats and cheeses, coffee and tea, seasonings, sweets and more) to self-care items (soaps, lotions, candles, shave and bath products, to name a few). They also offer curated gift boxes for special occasions; or, create your own with items of your choosing for a customized theme, and either pick it up or have it shipped. All told, Finger Lakes Goods offers about 450 local products to choose from, so you have plenty of options.


Vinifera takes a different approach to the fruits of the Finger Lakes with a focus on the area’s famous wine. The wine bar and wine shop is a great spot to sample some of the local flavors, with a tasting menu that features highlights from some of the area’s best-known wineries and vineyards. You can choose what you like, then buy a bottle: currently, Vinifera stocks more than 20 local brands of wine, but the goal is to continue adding to that list, with plans to establish an online wine market as well. Another hidden gem at Vinifera? The on-site “speakeasy.” The renovated basement space is a perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail crafted with local liquor, with snacks and desserts available to as well, all hidden behind a secret door, lending a vibe that harkens back to Prohibition times and makes for a fun experience to pair with your local wine.
