Bask in Winter's Beauty on an Old-Fashioned Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride

There are so many ways to get outside to enjoy the beauty and wonder of winter an Upstate New York winter, but is there anything more magical or fun than a horse-drawn sleigh ride? Winters in New York offer the perfect venue to step back in time and experience a mode of transportation used by those who lived and traveled through New York before the invention of motorized vehicles.

 

Many farms and parks offer sleigh/wagon ride options  to accommodate large parties of families and friends along with a smaller, more intimate sleigh ride that is guaranteed to win a fellow points with his lady every time. And many offer a special package for Valentine’s Day with all the trimmings – what is more romantic than that?
 

Some venues even provide add-ons like flowers and photograph opportunities while others offer an inviting interlude where riders can take a break to cozy up to a fire, sip hot chocolate and enjoy the winter scenery and time together. Some even offer heated seats!

 

And when snow is limited or lacking, no worries; many will simply hitch up the wagon instead. Either way, remember to bundle up, be prepared to take in the stunning winter scenery along with some pictures and savor your one-of-a-kind Upstate New York adventure!
